Locate the Flickr app and swipe it to close itġ. Tap the 3 dot menu in the top right hand cornerĢ. If you're running into issues with the iOS app on either an iPhone or an iPad, we do recommend trying some basic options to help fix any issues you're having.ģ. This is a crude bare bone app with very low usability. The favorites are still on my contacts’ accounts (ie they didn’t unfav them) but if you click on the bell in the app on my phone, they are nowhere to be seen on the notification section. It only shows old notifications (and even old ones are not complete). Multiple people that faved and commented on my photos recently are missing from that section. The notification feature (bell) is completely useless.

Based on Flickr”s sordid history of NOT fixing anything (there are bugs that have been there for decades and users have complained that long and they pretend to care but still nothing), I will say the when is NEVER! You can tell how little they care by the way the respond: not reading the complaint and dismissing it with a generic response is the ultimate insult and a clear sign they have abandoned the product. I emailed customer service a while ago and they told me “they know it they are working on it but they can’t tell me when they can fix it”. Apparently they didn’t read the review because it’s clearly a generic reply about how to clear the cache and uninstall/reinstall the app, when this bug cannot be fixed by that (if they used Flickr themselves it takes 5 seconds to see the bug). Updated 12/8: it’s hilarious that I just got a form response from the “developer”, who probably doesn’t even use their own product. I was one of the many complainers during the final years of Yahoo, but I'm more grateful than ever to have this platform and for the new life that you've given it.

If Instagram is a shopping mall, Flickr is an art gallery + photo meet-up. No algorithms shoving targeted content down your throat, no influencers hawking essential oils and watches, no trending videos or stories to boost DAU metrics, and for Pro members, NO ADS - just the talented, weird, serious, imaginative, beginner or veteran photographers and groups that you choose to follow. If you're looking for a place where the features, users, and community, are focused on photography (not influencing and marketing), Flickr is that place. I've been a Flickr user since 2006 and a Pro member for almost as long, and I'll be a Pro member for as long as Flickr supports this community! While I'm also an avid user of Instagram, the difference in purpose and focus between Instagram and Flickr is so clear. The last great platform for specifically photographersįlickr is the last real platform for the photography community (and for other creators).
